    The way wine is shipped within the EU, is regulated by the computerised system for monitoring and controlling the movement of products under suspension of excise duty introduced by Legislative Decree 48\/2010 as part of the European EMCS (Excise Movement Control System) project.
    According to the provisions of the decree, the shipment of wine on EU territory can only take place between excise code holders, authorised to send or receive goods accompanied by the appropriate excise accompanying document (e-AD or e-DAS).
